ICE Permits F-1 OPT Students to Work Under 20 Hours Per Week

On April 1, 2020, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) confirmed that for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency, F-1 OPT students who are working less than 20 hours per week are considered as engaged in OPT and in active employment -- normally, F-1 OPT students are considered out of status if they are not working a minimum of 20 hours per week.
