USCIS Announces Temporary Flexibility on Original Signature Requirements for Petition Filings

Earlier today, the USCIS announced temporary flexibility of its requirement for original signatures on immigration forms for the duration of the COVID-19 National Emergency. Effective on all submissions dated March 21, 2020, the USCIS will accept reproduced original signatures (scanned, faxed, photocopied, or similarly reproduced) , so long as the submitted copy is of the original document containing a wet-ink signature. If a reproduced signature is submitted with an immigration filing, the documents containing the original signature must be retained and will be subject to request at any time by the USCIS. We will coordinate with employers and employees to obtain reproduced signatures where original signatures may be difficult to provide to our office.
