Trump Administration's H-1B & L-1 Entry Ban Formally Expires

On Wednesday, March 31st, Presidential Proclamation 10052, the Trump Administration’s temporary ban on the entry of H-1B, L-1, and J-1 workers, expired as scheduled. The ban by former President Trump has stranded thousands of workers in H and L status outside the country since June of last year.

The Department of State (DOS) published an update acknowledging the ban’s expiration and indicating that visa applicants who have yet to be interviewed or scheduled for an interview will be processed in accordance with the DOS’ ongoing phased resumption of visa services at U.S. Embassies and Consulates abroad. Visa applicants who were previously denied visas under Proclamation 10052 may reapply by submitting a new application including a new fee.

While the end of Proclamation 10052 is welcome news for those impacted by the ban, folks seeking new visa stamps may continue to face delays in visa issuance depending on the specific post.
