House Passes Temporary Funding Bill to Avert Government Shutdown

Today, September 25, 2024, the House passed a temporary funding bill to keep the government open after the end of the fiscal year on September 30, 2024, through December 20, 2024. The Senate is expected to approve the temporary bill later today and will send it to President Biden to sign into law.  As provided in our previous alert last week, a government shutdown will significantly impact most employment-based immigration matters as certain agencies such as the Department of Labor would cease immigration-related services.
