Advisory: COVID-19 Travel Update on India

We are strongly cautioning clients against international travel to India due to the ongoing surge of cases of a new COVID-19 variant. Travelers to India may face challenges departing the country due to emerging local restrictions in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and other jurisdictions.

While the United States has not yet issued any restrictions on incoming passengers from India, it is possible that the Biden Administration will impose a travel ban similar to the ones currently in place for China, the United Kingdom, and other countries as the situation continues to develop. Numerous countries, including Canada, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong, have implemented travel restrictions or passenger flight bans on India in the past week, and many other countries will likely follow suit in the coming days.
